Dr. Arash Asher, MD has served as the Director of Cancer Survivorship & Rehabilitation at Cedars-Sinai Cancer since 2008. He has a special interest in the physical and rehabilitative needs of cancer survivors who continue to experience the effects of their cancer or its treatment. Dr. Asher has led the development several unique cancer survivorship programs with his colleagues, including Emerging from the Haze (living with the perceived effects of cancer treatment on cognition), GRACE (Growing Resilience and Courage), and others with the goal of optimizing physical, psychological, and spiritual resilience for patients with cancer. Dr. Asher completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the UCLA/Greater Los Angeles VA, and a cancer rehabilitation fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

 

 

Dr. Gordon is the Regional Medical Director, Clinical Genetics & Genomics Program, Providence Southern California . Regionally she is the Medical Director of the Center for Clinical Genetics & Genomics and has served as chair of the Commission on Cancer's Integrated Network Cancer Program for Providence Southern California for the past six years. Her clinical practice and research are focused on hereditary risk assessment and cancer prevention and early detection.

For the 50-hospital health system, Dr. Gordon is the Clinical Director of Providence’s Population Genomics Program. In this role, Dr. Gordon leads system-wide clinical and research protocols for population genomic medicine and is principal investigator for the Geno4Me: Genomic Medicine for Everyone study and implementation studies of DNA multicancer early detection blood tests for high-risk patients. She is a professor of genetics at Providence Saint John’s Cancer Institute and clinical professor of medicine at UCLA Geffen School of Medicine.

Dr. Gordon graduated from Tulane University and earned her Master of Science and medical degrees from the University of California, Irvine. She completed her internship and residency at UCLA, where she also completed a fellowship in genetics and is board certified in internal medicine and medical genetics. Passionate about the holistic approach to medicine, she more recently completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona’s Center for Integrative Medicine to expand options for primary prevention, quality of life for patients who are at risk for and survivors of cancer, and research on mind-body therapies and nutrition science.

In addition to her research publications, she also has co-authored an award-winning book for women facing genetic risk for breast or ovarian cancer, Positive Results: Making the Best Decisions When at High Risk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer.

 

 

Dr. Amy Kusske is an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Kusske is the Co-Director of the UCLA Santa Monica Breast Center. Her surgical practice is focused on the care of patients with benign and malignant breast disease. She strongly believes in the multidisciplinary approach to breast cancer care and has helped build and lead the Santa Monica Multidisciplinary Breast Program. After completing her undergraduate degree at Stanford University, Dr. Kusske pursued her medical degree and graduated with AOA honors from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. Dr. Kusske plays an active role in the community, serving on advisory boards for non-profit organizations including Sharsheret’s Medical Advisory Board and California Community Advisory Committee. She is married to Dr. Jonathan Goldin and is the proud mom of Hannah and Sara.

 

 

Jenna Fields, MA, MSW, is a women’s health and cancer genetics advocate, serving as the Chief Regional Officer of Sharsheret, the international Jewish nonprofit supporting people facing breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and hereditary risk for cancer. She currently oversees Sharsheret’s regional and international impact and growth, targeting high-risk Jewish communities, including the newly opened Sharsheret Israel office. Formerly the Founding Director of Sharsheret’s California Regional Office, over the past eight years she has led hundreds of educational programs across the West Coast in partnership with dedicated staff, volunteers, medical centers, synagogues, and schools, raising awareness within the Jewish and greater community about breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and elevated risks for hereditary cancers. Prior to her time at Sharsheret, Jenna worked at Jewish Federation Los Angeles for six years.

Jenna graduated in 2010 with an MSW from the School of Social Work at the University of Southern California and an MA from the Zelikow School of Jewish Nonprofit Management at Hebrew Union College. She holds a BA in Psychology from George Washington University. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two daughters.
