Allan B. Cutrow is the Co-Chair of the Trusts & Estates practice group at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP in Los Angeles. A highly regarded leader in his field, Allan specializes in estate and gift planning, administration, litigation, and charitable gift planning. He also maintains a robust dispute resolution practice and has appeared before the Supreme Court of California on “no contest” trust clause cases. In addition, he has been appointed as guardian ad litem in complex probate matters, trusted to help families navigate difficult circumstances.
For more than 25 years, Allan has consistently been recognized among the very best in his profession. He has ranked in the prestigious Chambers High Net Worth 2023 Guide in Private Wealth Law, and he has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers for his Trusts & Estates practice for the past 25 years.
Allan’s passion for serving others extends far beyond the courtroom. He is deeply committed to philanthropy and has taken on leadership roles across the Jewish community and the broader Los Angeles nonprofit landscape. Within Jewish Federation Los Angeles, Allan served as UJF General Chair in 2002, chaired the Federation’s KOREH L.A. literacy program, and led the Legal Services Division (the predecessor to today’s Legal Network). He also served two years as Campaign Chair for Hillcrest Country Club.
Admired for both his legal expertise and his generosity, Allan is a true community-builder — and a mensch. He has dedicated his life to ensuring a bright Jewish future and to making Los Angeles a more compassionate and welcoming place to call home. Allan and his wife Mary have been married for 37 years, and are proud parents of three sons: Scott, Andrew, and Spencer.
His community impact reaches well beyond JFEDLA. Allan chaired the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles from 1985 – 1989. He continues to champion causes close to his heart, from UCLA Athletics — where he spearheaded the construction of the Spieker Aquatic Center — to UCLA School of Law, Bet Tzedek, One Generation, Jewish Family Service LA, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, where he heads his firm’s fundraising efforts for the Food From the Bar campaign. He also referees high school water polo.
JFEDLA acts on shared values to create safe, joyful, and connected Jewish life in Los Angeles, Israel, and around the world. We care for our vulnerable by fighting poverty and combating antisemitism. We inspire by fostering Jewish journeys, building bridges, and developing leaders. Our dedicated partners, passionate staff, and your generosity make our work possible.
By signing up to attend this event, you agree to irrevocably grant to Jewish Federation Los Angeles — and to their employees, agents, and assigns — the right to take your photograph, record you, or use your image, silhouette, and/or other reproductions of your physical likeness, as well as your voice and/or words, for all purposes related to marketing and promotion of JFEDLA, across all media. These rights are granted in perpetuity. You hereby certify and represent that you are of at least 18 years of age and have read the foregoing and fully understand the meaning and effect thereof.
