Aaron Cohen is executive vice president of Specialty Banking. He is also a member of City National’s Senior Management Team.
Aaron began his banking career at City National in 1996. He joined the structured finance unit in 2004, became manager in 2011, and then executive vice president responsible for structured finance in 2016. He became executive vice president of Specialty Banking in 2020.
Aaron is on the board of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles, where he is treasurer. Aaron also serves as an advisory board member with the Los Angeles chapter of Facing History & Ourselves.
Aaron earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Emory University and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Charlie Hill is Chief Administrative Officer for Commercial Banking, overseeing Strategic Planning, Operational Risk Management, and General Administration for Commercial Banking’s three sales divisions and four product groups.
Charlie began his banking career at City National in 2006 with the Structured Finance Team and became a Team Leader in 2013. In 2020, Charlie took over Strategic Planning for the Specialty Banking Division, which merged with City National’s other commercial businesses in 2024. Charlie became the Head of Strategy and Administration for Commercial Banking in 2024 and Chief Administrative Officer for Commercial Banking in 2025.
Charlie currently serves on the Board and Finance Committee of JVS SoCal. He is a past Development Chair and Executive Committee Member. Charlie earned a bachelor’s degree in Government from Cornell University and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Amy Lerner-Hill oversees the legal functions for data protection, financial crimes/AML, and regulatory remediation for Royal Bank of Canada’s (RBC) U.S. entities, including City National Bank. She also acts as Deputy General Counsel for City National Bank, where she co-manages the Los Angeles-based legal department. Prior to her current role, Amy was General Counsel at RBC Bank (U.S.) and Head of Litigation and Bank Operations for City National Bank. Amy has been with City National Bank since 2011. Prior to that, Amy was a litigator at Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Mitchell LLP.
Amy serves on the Board and is past President of Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. She is also General Counsel of the Karsh Social Service Center at Wilshire Boulevard Temple.
Amy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, three children, and two dogs.
