Jonathan Firestone is Newmark’s Co-President, Global Debt & Structured Finance and serves as the leader of the company’s loan sale platform. Newmark Corporate is headquartered in New York, while the Global Debt business is co-headquartered in Los Angeles and New York.
Prior to joining Newmark, Jonathan was a Managing Director, focused on debt placement and loan sales. He served in that role for 23 years. Since 2001, Mr. Firestone has been involved in arranging, structuring, and negotiating approximately $190 billion of real estate financing and loan sale transactions, encompassing all property types. At Eastdil Secured, Mr. Firestone was a national leader and was instrumental in building out the debt placement and structured finance business.
Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Michigan, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and holds a California real estate salesperson license.
Mr. Firestone’s first job after Michigan was at Credit Suisse First Boston in its Real Estate Principal Transactions Group, which managed a $14 Billion loan and real estate equity portfolio.
Ronnie Gul is Co-Chief Executive Officer of Mesa West Capital. Mr. Gul joined Mesa West in 2005, has been a member of the senior leadership team since 2013, and helped grow Mesa West into one of the leading real estate private credit managers in the country. Mr. Gul previously co-led Mesa West’s originations efforts, continues to serve on both Mesa West’s investment and management committees, and has over 18 years of investing experience. Mr. Gul received a Master of Business Administration from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management and graduated summa cum laude with distinction from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
Aric Shalev oversees Rockpoint’s investment and asset management activities in the western United States. Mr. Shalev is based in Rockpoint’s San Francisco office. Prior to Rockpoint, Mr. Shalev was involved in investment and asset management activities in the western United States for Rockpoint’s predecessor firm, Westbrook Real Estate Partners, LLC (WREP). Prior to joining WREP in 1997, Mr. Shalev worked at Morgan Stanley in the Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring Group for two years. Mr. Shalev received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Anna Josephson is a Senior Vice President of Capital Markets at KBC Advisors. Anna specializes in industrial investment sales, portfolio dispositions, and equity and debt placement for industrial real estate across the United States. She has worked on more than $20 billion in transactions.
Prior to KBC, Anna was with Jones Lang LaSalle, where she was Vice President of the Industrial Capital Markets practice for the Western United States. Prior to that, Anna was a Portfolio Manager at Laurus Corporation, where she was responsible for all aspects of acquisition, disposition, and re-positioning of the company’s real estate investments.
Anna resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two daughters. She’s an active member and participant in the REC and currently sits on the Advisory Board.
