Amy Popkin’s Federation journey began in 1993 when she came onboard as a Campaign Associate. It was immediately clear that Amy was perfectly suited for a career of service, as she eagerly immersed herself in all things Federation. Amy served as Director of the Business & Professionals Division before making her way back to Sylvia Weisz Women’s Philanthropy (SWWP). In 2007, Amy became Director of SWWP, leading this dedicated group of women to great fundraising achievements. She held that position for the next 11 years and flourished in the role.

A stellar fundraiser, Amy developed long-time relationships with lay leaders who she inspired with her heartfelt and genuine leadership style. She also maintained a staunch commitment to partnering with and mentoring leaders and professionals within the Federation who played pivotal roles in the success of SWWP.

She travelled the world on Federation missions, further solidifying her bonds with the community members who joined her for these horizon-expanding trips. Israel. Ethiopia. Turkey. Ukraine. Amy made spreading her love of the Federation a global pursuit.

In 2018, Amy moved on from SWWP to become a Senior Vice President of Development, the position she holds today. She continues to cultivate lasting relationships and friendships with people in our community to ensure that Jewish Los Angeles will thrive for generations into the future.
