Shalom Institute's ShemeshFarms inspires its employees (Farm Fellows) who have diverse abilities to strive towards independence, self-determination, and a life filled with purpose, friendship, and inclusion. Together with volunteers, Farm Fellows work at ShemeshFarms planting and harvesting, and creating their signature herb-infused culinary salts and spices which are sold at ShemeshFarms Stands at Los Angeles area Farmer’s Markets and on their website. The Farm Fellows participate in every aspect of the enterprise, which includes branding, marketing, farming, product development, sales, and packaging and shipping the products sold via their online store. ShemeshFarms is a dynamic environment and a vibrant place where all are treated with dignity and respect.

ShemeshFarms is supported by a generous grant from the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, as well as generosity from The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, Erwin Rautenberg Foundation, the Diane and Guilford Glazer Philanthropies, Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary, and from individual donors and sales.
