The L.A. Tech Initiative engages tech leaders in the Jewish community and serves as a convening to spark philanthropy in support of the Federation’s impactful work.

 

Gabe Greenbaum is a partner with Pritzker Group Venture Capital, which he joined in 2012. He has led a number of the firm’s investments across enterprise software, marketplace technologies, machine learning, and other emerging and enabling technologies. Companies include as X.ai, Hightower/VTS, Augury, Catalytic, AiCure, SightMachine, IrisVR, Project44, and Joymode. He has also supported investments in ViV, Upserve, and Apervita.

His role expands on his entrepreneurial and investment experience, including co-founding two companies of his own, StudentSpace (Acquired by @Properties) and SwiftIQ. He has been instrumental in building the Pritzker Group Venture Fellows program and growing its presence in New York and Los Angeles. Gabe has been named to LA’s NextGen10, Chicago Crain’s Tech50, and Techweek’s Tech100. He holds a bachelor’s degree with honors from Washington University in St. Louis, an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and a JD from Northwestern University School of Law.

 

As the President of Openpath, James Segil runs operations and leads marketing, public relations, and partnerships for the company. Openpath offers a next generation physical access control system that allows users to use their smartphones to unlock the doors to their office. A serial entrepreneur, James has built and sold three successful technology companies (EdgeCast Networks, KnowledgeBase, and Virtualis) over the past 17 years. As a founder of Edgecast, James helped to build the company’s global network to carry more than seven percent of global internet traffic. Prior to Edgecast, James built KnowledgeBase into a profitable, industry-leading company that was ranked by Forrester as the Industry Leader in eService. James received the E&Y's 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year award for the greater Los Angeles area, is an investor in and advisor to tech startups and VC/PE funds, and is active in various community and philanthropic organizations.
