2023 05/04 SWWP Pritzker Mini Mission to our Partners
Sylvia Weisz Women's Philanthropy is going on a mini-mission to visit two of our partner organizations.
Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM

Attendees: 1 $18.00 ea.

Aish Tamid of Los Angeles helps at-risk, predominantly Orthodox Jewish teens and young adults find themselves, reconnect to the Jewish community, and become productive members of society. Its services include counseling, a drop-in center with nightly meals, referrals to substance abuse treatment, parental support groups, educational resources, job counseling, mentoring, and social events.

Our second stop will be at the Federation's BAR Center at the Beach where we'll learn about the Jewish Family Service Arts, Wellness, & Engagement Program, which offers engaging wellness activities for older adults from personalized fitness classes to educational and arts activities, social events, and more. The AWE Program is aimed at improving health and well-being, creating connections and opportunities for social activities, and engaging and stimulating the mind with fun and creative events and classes.

The BAR Center is a multi-use building with a community center, including a multi-functional flex space and an outdoor deck with an ocean view. Cultural requirements for Jewish buildings were incorporated into the design. Our goal was to create a strong and beautiful environmental graphics system that not only highlights the values of The Jewish Federation, but also enlightens, empowers, and engages guests and visitors to the past and future of Jewish culture, history and donors within Los Angeles.

A minimum gift of $500 to The Jewish Federation's Annual Campaign is required to attend.
