Keren Perlmutter, Ph.D. is an award-winning scientist, filmmaker, publisher, and public speaker. She obtained her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and her M.S. in Electrical Engineering, M.S. in Statistics, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, all from Stanford University. She was chief scientist and head of an international research and development division at AOL. She also developed the revolutionary “Ultra-Resolution” film restoration process for Warner Bros. Keren is a published author of many technical papers and has won numerous academic awards. She has also been granted 39 patents for her inventions. More recently, she edited and published her father’s bestselling autobiography, Determined: The Story of Holocaust Survivor Avraham Perlmutter, in English and in Dutch, and she created the award-winning documentary of the same name. She continues to share her father’s life story by speaking at museums, schools, and other venues. She is also actively involved with multiple non-profit organizations dedicated to Holocaust education, Holocaust survivor support, and other humanitarian causes. This includes serving on The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles' Caring for Jews in Need committee and the Sylvia Weisz Women’s Philanthropy cabinet, where she is a proud Lion of Judah.
