CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS MONTH
🚨

Gotcha!

You scanned an unknown QR code.

Don't worry — this QR code was part of a cybersecurity awareness exercise. But a real QR code could have taken you somewhere very different.

Here's the problem:

QR codes can hide their destination. A malicious QR code could send you to a fake login page, install malware, steal your credentials, or trick you into sharing sensitive information.

Before You Scan 🔍

  • Ask yourself: Do I know who placed this QR code here?
  • Be suspicious of QR codes asking you to log in, enter a password, or provide payment information.
  • Check the website address before continuing.
  • Be especially cautious with QR codes found on unexpected emails, flyers, posters, or packages.
  • If something feels unusual, stop and verify it another way.
STOP → THINK → VERIFY

Today it was only a cybersecurity exercise.
Next time, take a second before you scan.
