Experience the Persian New Year (Nowruz), just in time for the Spring Equinox. Feast on festive Iranian dishes, enjoy interactive activities with old friends and new, and tune in to a soul-quenching, musical performance by Chloé Pourmorady Ensemble. Whether or not you’ve celebrated the Persian new year before, this program was created for young adults of all cultural backgrounds!
Nowruz, which literally translates to “New Day” in Persian, marks the beginning of Spring. While it is Zoroastrian in origin, it has been celebrated by Iranians and Persian Jews worldwide for thousands of years.

Chloé Pourmorady Ensemble promises a fresh, exhilarating experience in each performance and a vibrant new flavor to contemporary folk music. With an ensemble of dynamic musicians from diverse backgrounds, Chloé, a violinist, vocalist, and composer, fuses soulful Persian & Jewish roots with Balkan, rock, classical, and avant-garde sensibilities. A unique combination of instruments including violin, clarinet, Persian tar, darbouka, bass, jarana, guitar, daf, and more highlight the enormous talents of Daniel Raijman, Alexander Meimand, Zack Lodmer, Ava Nahas, Jamie Papish, and Ramin Abrams.
