In April, the 200+ parents who joined us for our Wellness Conference: Building Resilience in Teens learned and connected through a powerful keynote from Julie Lythcott-Haims, author of How to Raise an Adult: Break Free of the Overparenting Trap and Prepare Your Kid for Success.
This summer, as part of a community-wide effort, we invite you to read the highly-acclaimed book and dive deeper into her ideas about pulling the bubble wrap off our teens, allowing them to make their own mistakes and develop the resilience and resourcefulness to be their best selves.
To participate in the Community Book Read:
- If you don’t already have it, buy How to Raise an Adult or pick up a copy at your local library.
- Carve out some me time to relax and read in your favorite spot.
- Jot down or underline parts of the book that challenge, inspire, or speak to you!
- Sign up for one of our two facilitated book chats (location to be provided upon RSVP):
- Tuesday, August 28th, 7:00-9:00 PM — the Valley
- Wednesday, August 29th, 7:00-9:00 PM — West Los Angeles
