Israel Bachar was appointed Consul General of Israel to the Pacific Southwest in May 2023, and assumed the post in September. Coming from the private sector, he is one of the most respected and sought-after political strategists in the country. Mr. Bachar has decades of experience in Israel’s ever-shifting political landscape; his background serves him well in his role as Israel’s senior representative to the Pacific Southwest region.
Founder and CEO of Bachar Strategy, Consul General Bachar has been a close confidant and advisor to the most influential politicians of Israel’s modern era, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Former Prime Minister Yair Lapid, and Former Minister of Defense Benny Gantz. Almost every major political party has sought Mr. Bachar’s advice.
Consul General Bachar has an illustrious record of launching careers and catapulting political parties from across the political spectrum to prominence. His innovative “out-of-the-box” strategies have proven phenomenally successful. His “bloc” strategy has had a historic impact on Israeli election outcomes.
Mr. Bachar also has vast experience beyond Israel’s political domain. He has led global campaigns and advised NGOs and multinational corporations in fields ranging from telecommunications to the energy sector. He also has expertise in crisis management. Mr. Bachar is a regular contributor on Israel’s most popular news shows.
Born in Beit She’an in the north of Israel, Consul General Bachar served in the Israel Defense Force’s Golani Brigade, graduated from Bar Ilan University and earned his MA in Communications at Fordham University in New York.
He is an avid Springsteen fan, plays bass guitar, and enjoys traveling. He is married to Rachel, whom he met in New York, and they have three daughters.
