The Jewish Federation and our partner Repair the World LA invite you to join us at ShemeshFarms on Sunday, August 14th from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM. ShemeshFarms is a farm social enterprise for young adults with special needs who farm, plant, harvest, and grow herbs.
Join us as we help them harvest, sort, and dry the herbs used in their herb and spice blends and tour the farm.
Be sure to save and bring your food scraps for composting including eggshells, coffee grounds, fruit and vegetable scraps, bread, pasta (but no dairy or meat of any kind).
Parking is available on site. Also, please note that volunteers should be old enough to work the land and handle shovels. You are encouraged to bring a pair of NEW gardening gloves to donate to ShemeshFarms.
The facility is limited to 30 volunteers, so register soon. If you’re unable to join us August 14 but would like to receive updates about similar opportunities in the future, please email Volunteer@JewishLA.org.
We look forward to seeing you on August 14!
