Alex Weingarten
Alex Weingarten is a passionate advocate for The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, dedicating his time and expertise to various leadership roles. He serves as a member of the Board and Executive Committee, where his contributions have been instrumental in fostering unity among diverse communities, and he previously served two terms each as Chair of the Community Engagement Division and Chair of the Legal Division, spearheading impactful programs and initiatives. Alex is an alumnus of the Federation’s New Leaders Project and the National Young Leadership Cabinet. He is also the recipient of the Jules Ratner Leadership Award and the Rabbi Edgar F. Magnin Community Service Award.
In addition to his work within The Jewish Federation, Alex is on the Board of Bet Tzedek, a leading pro bono legal organization in Southern California, and he serves on the Board of the California Jewish PAC. He is the recipient of the Rabbi Edgar F. Magnin Community Service Award. Alex previously served on the Board of JPAC, the Jewish Public Affairs Committee of California. Alex is also on the Board of Trustees of the Junior State of America Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to helping high school students across the nation acquire leadership skills and the knowledge necessary to be effective debaters and civic participants.
Professionally, Alex is the cofounder and Managing Partner of the Los Angeles Office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and Chair of the Firm's Entertainment Litigation Practice. His experience spans entertainment, probate, and business litigation, making him a go-to attorney for "bet the company" cases. His tenacity, creativity, and zealous advocacy have earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor and strategic problem solver. Recognized as a leading commercial trial lawyer, he has garnered acclaim from prestigious publications such as the Los Angeles Business Journal, Daily Journal, Variety, and Billboard, among others.
Alex received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
