Please join The Jewish Federation’s King David Society (KDS) for a spectacular evening of community and connection featuring entertainment icon Henry Winkler on Tuesday, May 23rd. You and your adult children are invited to gather with other KDS donors as we proudly reunite for the first time in four years. The evening’s program will also include reflections on Israel to honor its upcoming 75th birthday. It’s going to be a special night where we renew our commitment to a flourishing Jewish Los Angeles, while reaffirming the warm bonds we share after so much time apart.
Online registration is now closed. For information about this event or if you would like to attend, please contact Lauren Shorten at LShorten@JewishLA.org or (323) 761-8306.
Henry Winkler is an Emmy® Award-Winning Actor, Author, Director, & Producer. He is the son of German-Jewish immigrants who escaped the Holocaust by fleeing to the United States in 1939. Henry received a bachelor’s degree from Emerson College and a Master of Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama. He has authored 13 children’s novels inspired by his true-life experience of living with undiagnosed dyslexia, which made him a classic childhood underachiever. His books have sold over 2 million copies. Henry and his wife Stacey Weitzman, who have been married for 45 years and have raised three children together, are involved with several children’s organizations. Henry has won numerous awards for his role on the HBO series Barry and is currently starring in the new Israeli steaming series Chanshi.
The Jewish Federation is the central organization of Jewish Los Angeles. We put Jewish values in action to meet our community’s needs and make our voices heard on issues ranging from antisemitism to social services to ensuring a strong Jewish future. We care for our most vulnerable, inspire Jewish journeys, connect with and support the people of Israel and Jews around the world, and actively engage in Los Angeles civic life to build bridges with other communities. We accomplish this by working with our dedicated partners, our generous donors, and our passionate leadership.
