Rabbi Aaron Lerner

Rabbi Aaron LernerRabbi Aaron Lerner combines an entrepreneurial spirit with a deep appreciation for Jewish tradition. He is equally comfortable reading a spreadsheet, inventing new ways to build Jewish community, or engaging in Jewish learning.

Originating from an intermarried family but ordained as an Orthodox rabbi, Aaron embodies a pluralistic approach to Jewish life. During his seven years at UCLA Hillel, Rabbi Aaron has built a pioneering culture and facilitated the creation of more effective Israel advocacy and education strategies that are being deployed by Hillels around the globe.

Rabbi Aaron received ordination from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah with an emphasis in education as a Wexner Graduate Fellow. He has since honed his leadership skills through a Schusterman Fellowship and participation in Hillel International’s Accelerate program.

Prior to entering the world of education, he worked for more than a decade in commercial real estate finance after graduating from USC’s Marshall School of Business. Rabbi Aaron lives in Los Angeles with his wife Dr. Rachel Lerner and their three daughters.
