Lisa Hess

Lisa Hess | Lion of Judah Luncheon | The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles Sylvia Weisz Women's Philanthropy

Lisa Hess has served in multiple leadership roles throughout the Federation. Lisa, along with her husband George, took their first of many Federation Missions to Israel and beyond in October 2008. Although she had been to Israel several times before as the typical tourist, travelling with the Federation was her opportunity to see the impact that Federation has on the day to day concerns of Israeli life and security of their futures. Lisa and George came home with an energy to make an impact not only in Israel, but also in our local Los Angeles Community.

While serving on the Valley Alliance Board, Lisa and George co-chaired the Valley’s Major Gifts dinner and Campaign. Lisa was on the Federation’s Budget committee for several years before becoming the current Chair. Lisa is also currently serving on the Wildfire Relief Task Force. Lisa will be chairing Federation’s new 2019 Valley event series.

Lisa is a past President of the Valley Beth Shalom Day School Board, while serving simultaneously on the Valley Beth Shalom Board of Directors ultimately becoming the Board Chair. Lisa was active at Pitzer College serving on the Parents’ Board during her son’s tenure at the school.

Lisa received her bachelor’s degree in Economics from UCLA and has her own CPA practice in Encino.

Lisa and George have been married for almost 20 years, residing in Encino. They have two sons, a daughter-in-law, and one spectacular grandson.
