Safe Place for Youth (SPY) Community Garden

Parking: Street parking is available on Venice and in the surrounding neighborhood.

Don’t forget your hat and sunscreen for this sun-filled gardening activity! We’ll be working to beautify SPY’s garden for its members who work to build their self-resilience and life skills through on-site internships and educational workshops.

Please remember to wear sunscreen and a hat, if desired, and to bring water with you.

 

Heal the Bay

Address: Meet at Hotel Casa del Mar, 1910 Ocean Way, Santa Monica 90405 — look for the Federation group near the restrooms just west of the Lot 4 South parking lot located on the south side of the hotel. Please note, our group does not interact with the hotel at all, we will be near the restrooms on the beach.

Join us down at the shore to clean up Santa Monica Beach where we’ll focus on picking up those pieces of trash that often get overlooked but pose a danger to ocean animals and our environment.

Get your hands dirty with us at the Shemesh Organic Farm located on the Malibu Jewish Center & Synagogue campus as we plant in the garden and enjoy the outdoors.

 

Ronald McDonald House

Parking: Carpooling is recommended — there are two small lots at the House; access to both is located on Lyman, off of Fountain Avenue through the driveways on the left.

Volunteers ages 22-40, help prepare and serve a “meal of love” for residents who have a child in the hospital and create something special for the kids.

After giving back, join us to reflect on your volunteer experience and a chance to connect with the other participants.

Restrictions: Volunteers must be aged 22-40. If you are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, please DO NOT COME — RMH families are more sensitive to common illness because their children may be immunosuppressed. Also, please refrain from taking photos of the residents.

 

The Los Angeles Jewish Home — Eisenberg Village
